The unprivileged ISA committee is responsible for defining the strategy for all user mode instructions and parameters and state, doing gap analysis, handling errata, and either developing new extensions or spawning Task groups to develop new extensions. The committee works with the horizontal committees to enable and govern extensions necessary to meet the strategy and roadmaps of the horizontal committees and participate in the development of other ecosystem documentation (like ABIs) or software. The committee is also responsible for opcode and CSR assignment in conjunction with the privileged ISA committee.
